    Abstract: The papers presents a practical and achievable approach to adaptive e-learning, as it provides students with three different learning contents for each lesson, corresponding to three optional and different knowledge levels (A,B and C). The development of learning content is based on reusable DITA learning objects. The learning content is exported to a LMS using the SCORM standard. Each lesson consists of three learning processes corresponding to three knowledge levels. Each process contains several learning tasks. Sequencing of tasks is done using SCORM 2004 (SCORM 1.3), and is programmed with XML code inside of a SCORM manifest. The concept proposed is demonstrated through an example of a lesson.

    Abstract: In order to solve the issue of providing a total solution for the adaptive e-learning, an institution has to face more than one challenge. Firstly it is necessary to develop a plan based on pedagogy and instructional methodology of the adequate course content creation. The next, institution must have an efficient assessment system, established rules for the sequencing and navigation, and a method of delivering content to its students. In addition, software tools and technical platforms have to be put in place. QDITA for e-learning offers a total solution eco-system capable of responding to the current requirements for adaptivity in education. In this paper , the main features of the QDITA eco-system will be detailed, starting from the high-level landscape, all the way through to the scalable architecture for content creation and the affordable technical platform to support this solution. Additionally, key concepts of reusability through the reusable Registry, customized Learning Object (LO), digital library, and the union between the DITA and SCORM standards, will be explained. Extension into the domain of mobile e learning will be drafted as well.

    Abstract: Educational institutions like BMU recognizes a need to move from creating and delivering large inflexible training courses, to CCMS learning objects that can be reused, searched, and modified independently from their delivery media. This decision creates a need to define more clear strategy in the course authoring guidelines. The strategy includes standards and processes for designing and developing Reusable Registry of DITA [1] components, based on which authors can produce interactive courses with adaptive elements. This paper will present key reasons, elements and decisions in process of preparing the standard guidelines document.
